Candidates may note that they can fill the Application Form for GATE 2015 only after paying the GATE 2015 Application Fee (from September 1, 2014 to October 1, 2014). Candidates may note that the GATE 2015 Application Form is completely online and must be accompanied by the supporting documents which have to be uploaded at the time of filling in the GATE 2015 Application Form. Features of the GATE 2015 Application Procedure:

The GATE 2015 Application Form is through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
Candidates can apply for only one of the 22 papers
Candidates may note that supporting documents must also be uploaded along with the GATE 2015 Application Form.
Hard copies of the same need not be sent to the GATE 2015 Zonal Centres.
Payment of Application Fees for GATE 2015 is online only.
Status of the GATE 2015 Application Form can be checked

Documents to be kept ready before filling in the GATE 2015 Application Form:

1. Photograph Specifications:

The photograph must be in color with a white or a very light background and taken in a professional studio
The photograph must have been taken after July 1, 2014
Photographs with dark or tinted glasses are not allowed, only clear glasses are permitted
The photograph must be an image in a JPEG format and also on a standard 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm print.
TheMaximum pixel resolution must be 640 × 480 (0.3 Mega pixel) and a Minimum pixel resolution of 320 × 240.

2. Signature Specifications

Candidates must draw a rectangular box of size 2.5 cm × 6 cm on an A4 white paper.
They must sign with black or dark blue ink pen within this box.
They must get the signature digitally image scanned by a professional using a scanner, and get the image cropped to the box by the professional.
Signature in only JPEG image format will be accepted.
The maximum pixel resolution for the image should be 800 × 300 while the minimum pixel resolution for the image can be 400 × 150.
Mobile Pictures of the signature will not be accepted

GATE 2015 Application Procedure is as follows:

1. Registration: Click here to register

Candidates must first register by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a GOAPS password.
Candidates are advised to enter a valid email id as all communications from the GATE Offices will be sent to this address
Similarly candidates must give a valid mobile number to receive the communication via SMS.

Important:

After successful registration, candidates will receive an email containing theGOAPS Enrolment ID.
Candidates can log in using this GOAPS Enrolment ID and the GOAPs password chosen during registration

3. Filling in the GATE 2015 Application Form:

Candidates have to fill in the personal information likename, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc
Address for Communication (including PIN code),
Eligibility degree details (College address, PIN code of college),
GATE paper, choice of GATE 2015 examination cities
Note: A candidate can apply for only ONE of the 22 papers
Candidates have to upload the photograph, signature and supporting documents as specified
Details of Valid Photo ID that the candidate will carry alongwith the GATE 2015 Admit Card

4. Payment Options:

Candidates have to select the payment option andwill be redirected to the payment screen as per the option
After successful payment, a “Fee Payment Number” will be generated which is unique and must be saved by the candidate.
After payment candidates are advised to check the payment status

Status of the GATE 2015 Application Form:

The current status of the GATE 2015 application will be updated after the receipt and scrutiny of the submitted application by the respective zonal GATE Office.
This status can be checked anytime by logging into GOAPS.

Problems with Login into GOAPS:

1. In case of forgotten Enrollment ID or non-receipt of Enrollment ID via email, candidates must provide the registered mobile number and the GOAPS Password. The Enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate via SMS.

2. In case of forgotten password, candidates must provide the registered Mobile Number and Enrollment ID, which will be verified and a new GOAPS password will be sent to the candidate via SMS/email.

3. In case of forgotten Enrollment ID as well as password:

If payment has not been made, candidates must re-enroll.
If the payment has been made, then the candidate must contact the Zonal GATE Office.

2500 Scholarships for Students with Disabilities for the Academic Year 2014-15

National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), for and on behalf of Department of Disability Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, invites applications from Students with Disabilities for award of Scholarship under the following two Scholarship Schemes :-

1. Scholarship Scheme (Trust Fund) :- (Last Date : Applicants may apply at any time in academic year)

Under this scheme, 2000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India.
30% scholarships will be reserved for girls, which will be transferable to male students in case of nonavailability of female candidates.
Applicants may apply at any time in academic year for scholarship under this scheme. Scholarships will be awarded quarterly basis for the applications received in preceding quarter Under this scheme, an advance copy of application should also be submitted online ( www.nhfdc.nic.in) by the candidate.
Reimbursement of Non-Refundable fees restricted to the limit of fee of similar courses in Government/Government –aided institutions. Maintenance allowance will be paid to the students for 10 months @ Rs. 2500/ per month for Professional Graduate Courses and Rs.3000/- per month for Professional Post-Graduate Courses in one academic year.
Books/Stationery allowance will be paid to students pursuing Professional Graduate Courses @ Rs.6,000/ per annum and Rs.10,000/- per annum for pursuing Professional Post-Graduate Courses.
Differently-abled students in addition will be provided financial assistance for purchase of aids & appliances (only once during life time).
Monthly income of the beneficiary /parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.25,000/- (Rs. 3.00 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian.
A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the course.

2. Scholarship Scheme (National Fund):- (Last Date of receipt of application : 20th September, 2014)

Under this scheme, 500 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for pursuing higher academic/professional or technical qualification.
Applicant has to apply online (www.nhfdc.nic.in) for scholarship from 01.07.2014 to 20.09.2014 and scholarship shall be awarded once in a academic year under this scheme.
Scholarship of Rs.1000/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.700/-p.m. for day scholars studying in professional courses at graduation and above level, and Rs.700/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.400/-p.m. for day scholars pursuing Diploma/Certificate level professional courses. Course fee reimbursed upto ceiling of Rs.10,000/- per year.
Financial assistance can be given for computer with editing software for blind/deaf graduate and post graduate students pursuing professional courses and for support access software for cerebral palsy students.
Monthly income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.15,000/ - (Rs. 1.80 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian.
Scholarship holder under this scheme will not concurrently hold any other scholarship/stipend

How to apply :- The applicant has to apply online (www.nhfdc.nic.in) and printed copy the online filled application duly countersigned and recommended by the Head of the Institution, where they are studying along with requisite documents send to: National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), Red Cross Bhawan, Sector-12, Faridabad-121007. It is to be noted that without a hard copy of application, a candidate’s application in soft copy will not be entertained.
